Assembly 197’s Public Program is our meeting point with the broader community. A space brimming with opportunities to get your body moving, connect with kindred spirits, and engage in a diverse range of creative activities.
From our Dance Discovery classes for young people to adult ballet classes to artists showing work in development, we strive to create a vibrant community. We firmly believe we can achieve remarkable things when we unite and express ourselves.
TDSD
TASDANCE SCHOOL OF DANCE
Creative-led and valued self-expression guides our classes. Passionate and dedicated artists teach contemporary ballet and street classes, and the art of dance is at the centre of inclusive, non-competitive experiences for young people aged 4-18.
ADULT CLASSES
Whether you have graced the stages of the world or are finding a new path in life, our adult classes offer an environment where all levels and interests are welcomed.
WORKSHOP + GATHERINGS
We welcome activities from many talented people who live and work in Launceston and abroad. Our studio is the perfect place for coming together and connecting to our bodies in unique ways. We love to host gathering events where all can celebrate, fundraise, and enjoy all that makes Tasmania the unique place to live and make art.
SESSIONS
Throughout the year, our studios host exceptional internationally recognised artists and cherish the opportunity for the community to meet them and see new work in development. SESSIONS provides a space where people meet, exchange ideas, and gain insight into the making process.
